Celebrating 120 Years

Janet Northrup of the CWC who has spent 3 years researching numerous sources in order to make this a "must have" book for everyone's reading enjoyment and library.

It is written to reflect the many glorious years of how women affected the growth of Chautauqua.

The book has nearly a hundred pictures and includes the names of all current Life Members.

The book can be purchased at the Chautauqua Book Store.

2014 Cookbook

The last CWC cookbook was compiled in 1902.  More than a century has elapsed.  To honor the memory of those who came before us and celebrate our 125th anniversary, the CWC Board approved the development of a cookbook.

Membership:
CWC is a not for profit corporation and is regarded as a national organization with members coming from nearly every state. The CWC is open to any individual who pays dues in one of three membership categories; Annual, Life or Life Sustaining. The dues help to support the Club’s many and varied programs and events. All members are welcome to avail themselves of the hospitality and resources of the Chautauqua Women’s Club.

CWC Program:
The nine-week summer program, as outlined on the pages in the calendar section, is prepared, presented and paid for by the Chautauqua Women’s Club with most of the programs open to the entire Chautauqua community.  Each season the CWC sponsors the Contemporary Issues Forum, a series of lectures by prominent experts for all Chautauqua visitors on Saturday afternoons in the Hall of Philosophy. On Wednesdays, in conjunction with Chautauqua Institution, Club House Dialogues offer the opportunity for conversation with an AMP speaker of the week.  There are a range of other programs offered throughout each week to meet the varied interest of members and guests.  View list on the left.

The Scholarship Committee:
The Scholarship Committee has partnered with the Chautauqua Institution for many years to provide scholarship assistance for students who wish to attend the Schools of Fine and Performing Arts programs.   Annual scholarship support comes from private  donors, donations earmarked from the various CWC fund raising events, donations from the Artists at the Market each summer and from the Scholarship Fund.  A summer Recital Program is presented by the students, faculty and guest artists who perform for a grateful community benefiting the CWC scholarship program.  Support of the Arts reflects the heart of the Chautauqua experience year after year.  CWC is proud to participate in this ongoing endeavor as financial support is of critical importance in helping students to achieve their goals.

The Chautauqua community is cordially invited to attend the summer recital programs in the performance venues and to participate in the program by providing scholarship assistance and support of CWC fund raising activities annually.
