Twenty-five Antique dealers from New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania will show their antiques and collectibles at the 24th annual Chautauqua Women’s Club (CWC) Antique Show and Sale on Saturday, July 17th from 9:30 to 4:30 pm in the Turner Community Center gymnasium on Route 394.

The Antique Show is an excellent place to find Chautauqua memorabilia.  Dealers will also offer a panoply of old treasures including linens, glass and fine china, silver, wicker, costume and estate jewelry, books, post cards and prints, antique dolls, quilts, lamps, furniture, and toys.

The annual Antique Show is open to the public and the donation is $4.  The CWC Property Endowment Committee hosts the show to raise funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the clubhouse.

The event originated with Geneva Cherry, the committee’s former chairwoman.  Her interest in antiques drove her to organize the antique show.  Though the first show had only 14 dealers, the committee’s dedication to the event has kept many of those dealers coming back.

Volunteers from the club’s endowment committee set up and staff the event, which is usually attended by 600 people.  It’s a once-a-year event that people look forward to all year.

“I’m always amazed by the amount and variety of items,” says Pat Rowe, CWC member and event volunteer.  “The quality of the selection is extremely high, and as people come in, they will find there is a treasure for everyone.”

The tram and north bus inside the Chautauqua Institution are available for transportation to Turner Community Center.  Arrivals from outside the gate do not need a gate pass, but those inside the gate need to bring their passes.  The event is also wheelchair accessible.
